Beautiful images of some gorgeous flowers, Lesley, and a wonderful start!

We took an "extended" vacation with our closest friends, so I wasn't able to
comment on all the wonderful images you folks have been posting, but I sure
did enjoy viewing them.

We visited a new place while at the Outer Banks this time around called the
Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, and besides the most vicious bug bites
ever, we had an awesome time. We were fortunate enough to see seven black
bears in mid-day, which is quite unusual, and the following images are of a mother
and one of her cubs. When the mother saw us, she retreated into the woods, but her
cub took off in the opposite direction. We were all surprised that the mother let
the cub get over a 1/4 mile away from her before chasing her down and bringing
it back.

I was about 1/2 a mile away with a 250mm lens, so these images have been
cropped, some of them severely. I hope you enjoy.

I found this small trail, and trails always entice me to see where they go so I stepped up and got out. Shortly after I found some big drums at the top of a small ,very small waterfall and the drums are there to recuperate water to furnish several camps there at the outfitter's camp. The flow would disappear under fallen trees, behind rocks and eventually empty into a lake where my son was fishing right at the mouth

P1 Love finding trails like this Rr, well documented my friend

Never sure about moving images, good to view but when is a photo not a photo, when its a video !!! haha

I would like to see you try hanging that one on the wall Rr

Good morning! I've been away for a while and back to enjoy the beauties of these images above.

I went out the other day to a new discovery here in Florida...a place that is known for at least hundred of alligators in one location...this is what I found? No people anywhere....Yikes! I was there for at least an hour. As I was leaving the location I think I saw someone in the woods nearby so I assumed it was their stuff.

Happy summer everyone!

"In looking at the "Preview" I can see the color of my image is off, anyone has any idea of why?"

thank you, Carol

P1 Good story but a little worrying carol, great shot

I cannot help you with the color issue, but have heard this before from someone else, if when uploading you press the download tab, think you will find the larger downloaded image will have the correct colors

Taken at a local wildlife area Friday afternoon. I was really lucky that they sat so long in one spot. All taken with the camera on a tripod, 150-600mm lens and a SB-900 speedlight.

My friends on Facebook are all complaining about the rain.
I just let them grumble, because the opposite, drought,
is much worse on the forests, and the animals...
Monday the rain let up, and Sue and I ventured out
in the county to recon how the creeks were doing...
Heavy rains, and a wet spring have combined for a very
lush and green forest.
The animals I have seen have been very healthy.
Tom here, was in a "friendly" persons yard, comfy
enough to not scare off... I used an 18-250 lens,
but I needed more, he was about 125 yards out...
