Are those shot indoors? Otherwise I don't know how you get the succulent to hold still in the wind for that many shots?

Wonderful images Carol, I especially like the succulent. There is definitely a different "feel" to the focus stacked images. I'm fairly new to stacking, but am enjoying it as long as there's no wind.

Thank you, Vicki. I'm working on another stacking project today. Sometimes it goes well and sometimes not but I enjoy the effort.

This one was shot indoors. The plant is in a pot. Sometimes I can shoot stacks outdoors if it is relatively quiet or sometime I can use a Plamp to secure the plant but that is tricky. Indoors I try to wait until the air conditioner is not blowing because even that can move a plant.

BevThank you, Bev! I tried the succulent both stacked and single shot with a small aperature. The stack looked better. Stacking is fun but requires patience. It takes some effort and doesn't always work out.

Thanks. I haven't really tried focus stacking yet, but your image of the succulent inspires me to try. Good wildflowers here in NM this year thanks to a relatively wet Winter/Spring.
I have been working with tilt/shift lenses to help with the depth of field in one shot. Lots of wind here.

Beautiful Carol, but the two shots of the Succulents are the winners! You can't beat dark backgrounds for exploding colors.

Here's a link to a topic I did some time ago. I'm fairly certain these were all stacked shots. I haven't done as much lately although I did spend most of today stacking a few shots of a Stokes Aster. Some things do well and some don't.

Thank you! I have a frame made of PVC to support a background and use it a lot when shooting indoors. Black is the only thing that I've had good results from!
