I wouldn't use one of those on a bet. The torsional side loads on the tripod mount could produce all kinds of undesirable issues.

On some occasions I like to have 2 cameras when I walk an area to take pictures with a wide on one and extended telephone on the other. It's just a preference to changing lenses in adverse conditions (wind, sand, etc.) and can be fun. The problem is carrying them.

If I use a neck strap on one, then the other may be in my hand or on another neck strap. This can be irritating on my neck after a while and less convenient than I want. And the cameras can bang together.

Years ago I used a "hip side" belt clip with a camera attachment allowing the camera to slip in and out. While it was convenient, the camera mount threaded to the bottom of the camera (film) and in an L-shape pressed against the back of the camera. It was great and very secure. That camera clip, however, covers the screen on the back of today's DSLR's.

I had not thought of looking for a solution until recently when I saw a young female wedding photographer carrying 2 cameras at a wedding. The straps she used were slings. They looked like a great solution.

Amazon had a nice selection and I purchased two. They have quick disconnects and are extremely safe. I used them on a trip to South Florida to the Edison Estate. Quick and easy to use. Even if I only use one camera, there is no more neck pain and I don't have a camera hanging down on my belly. I like these slings and they are very comfortable.

Here is the Amazon link for what I purchased and a picture from their page. Tell me what you think.

I have a Focus shoulder strap, they also make a 2 camera setup. I also have a wrist strap that I typically leave on the camera then use a small carabiner to attach that to the should strap. The gives me peace of mind if the mount screwed into the tripod threads lets loose or the swivel on the strap breaks. The wrist strap attached to the should strap keeps it from hitting the ground
I also prefer the plate with the hole in one end vs the screw loop which makes the camera hand up-side down. The plate (I feel) gives more surface on the bottom of the body while the camera hangs sideways and easy to grab.

You could use the strap for one camera & a chest harness for the other. That way, the camera won't tend to bounce into each other or drive you nuts bouncing off of both hips. Would allow very quick access to either camera. Here's just one example: https://www.amazon.com/USA-Harness-Neoprene-Pattern-Accessory/dp/B079J85VC8/ref=sr_1_37_sspa?crid=3LDM649CQ8BE1&keywords=chest+mount+camera+harness&qid=1561225211&s=gateway&sprefix=chest+mount+camera+har%2Caps%2C164&sr=8-37-spons&psc=1&smid=A1SPPM51R7STTE

Or just use a 2 cameras vest, what I do.

Connect your Black Rapid hook to a RRS or Kirk 1inch clamp. The clamp attaches to the camera body plate and is easy to remove. You can also attach the strap/clamp to another camera quickly or put the camera on a tripod. A few more $ but safer and faster!

Absolutely check out Cotton Carrier. I use the vest style with side holster to carry 2 bodies with lenses while hiking. Very secure mounting. No swinging. Fast access. Keeps hands free.

During a two week shoot in Israel and Jordan, I used a sling with the attachment to the camera thread and it worked better than I had hoped. The around the neck camera strap is now sitting in a drawer.

If it worked, why is it in a drawer?

Don't need the OEM camera strap ... sling strap in use from now on.
