An interesting photo. I like the sharpness and contrast in the couple. But I do find my eye drawn to the umbrella on the right. It might help to crop it out. All in all, a good photo.

I agree about the umbrella but cropping it out would also eliminate the architectural detail that helps give context and interest to the image.

Nice shot, but I agree with Voss--I’d lose the Coke umbrella to get a stronger shot.

"But I want a Kosher dog and a Pepsi!"

Product placement is big in NYC.

Great shot. As for the umbrellas, they do add a story line with the one on the right promoting products.

Great story shot. My eyes went to the couple, the umbrella, and then back to the couple. Not a bad trip at all and I think the umbrella lends a lot to context. I love it the way it is-well done!

Perhaps what was meant is to remove the umbrella on the right leaving the architecture intact or maybe toning down the brightness/highlights of the umbrella.

It looks like the guy is rubbing his cheek and the lady is getting ready to smack him again. I think she got hold of his phone with the porno pictures on it or the text messages from "the other woman", aka, "the hussy".

OK - here's a cropped shot w/out the umbrella and showing the reason for the cut-off feet. It actually puts more emphasis on the people featured and the loss of that architectural element is no biggie!

Is she saying "Speak to the Hand" or did she just slap him in the face?

Much better as our eyes aren't kept going to the umbrella. Actually, I can now see the story as told by EdJO37. Well spotted Ed.

As I said earlier I think she smacked him and is getting ready to smack him again.

Thanks, Heather, I'm pleased somebody noticed and liked my take on the scene.
In the cropped photo I can see somebody with a pointed object behind the guy and it looks like they are getting ready to cram that object someplace where the sun don't shine.
