Not really. Some Lesbians feel manly for lack of a better word but still enjoy Women sexually. Other women who prefer women sexually are absolutely feminine in their actions; dresses, makeup, high heels and so on. A lesbian couple I know are just like that. Two gay friends are somewhat different. Neither one is totally male acting but it is apparent, if you know them that they are gay. Neither has ever struck me as, flaming.
Through working in a prison environment as well as being a LEO I have found real life differs much from what has been stated here by both sides. In my opinion and from experience, gay people are not crazy, are not necessarily gay from birth, and some DO choose that lifestyle.
A battered woman may very well choose a Lesbian girlfriend as she feels threatened by men. Something interesting though is that the woman often chooses a batterer for a girlfriend just as battered women will often choose another batterer type male. In that case it is the woman who generally needs counseling to determine why she chooses men/women who harm her.
Many inmates, male and female are, “Gay for the stay”. Outside of confinement they are generally not gay. But they will be gay in prison because they are lonely, for protection, or find someone they want to be with. I have seen a few inmates violate the rules to stay in prison to be with their lover.
Both sides here should consider everyone including L**T wh**ever (hell, I forgot the appropriate letters) people do not live in distinct boxes as some would have them appear. They are all different. Look at some of our hard, rough and tumble macho sports figures that have come out of the closet over the past 50 years. Not an old fashioned, Fairy, among them. I dare say many here, on both sides of The Attic, have an Alphabet friend and have no idea.
