D7500 Firmware Version 1.1...will it fix SnapBridge?

A "C" firmware update was recently released for the D7500 (and other SnapBridge cameras D500 and D850?). Has anyone tried it yet? It includes a couple of minor bug fixes and a new "Establish Wi-Fi Connection". But doesn't SnapBridge already use Wi-Fi for remote control and to upload full-sized jpeg images? So what are the benefits of the new "Establish Wi-Fi Connection"? Following is a description of the firmware update from the Nikon Download Center:

"Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.01 to 1.10
• The camera now also supports direct Wi-Fi connections to devices running SnapBridge. For more information, see the “Addendum to the User’s Manual” in which this feature is described. Before using this feature, upgrade to the following version of the app:
- SnapBridge version 2.5.4 or later
• Fixed the following issues:
- If the mode dial was rotated from P to U1 and then back to P, ISO sensitivity would be set to the value selected for U1.
- Repeatedly pressing the zoom in and zoom out buttons during movie live view would cause unexpected behavior when 3840x2160; 30p was selected for Frame size/frame rate in the MOVIE SHOOTING MENU.
Changes from Previous Versions
Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.00 to 1.01
• The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone."

My new D7500 has “C” Firmware Version 1.00 and SnapBridge version 2.5.4 is on my Note8 Android phone. SnapBridge seems to be working at the moment for synchronizing time and GPS location, and for downloading pictures. And it seems to already work similarly to the new "Establish Wi-Fi Connection" described in the Addendum mentioned above, which is 2 pages available from the download center. It describes how to connect the camera directly via Wi-Fi, but does not discuss how that benefits operation. Does it still need Bluetooth? Does it fix the instability problems that many have encountered? Is it faster?

I am just trying to get back to Eye-Fi functionality that worked very well for back up from Nikon D90 and P500 cameras to an Android phone during our 2011 Italy trip. It was slow, but caught up as I walked around between shots.

After installing the D7500 V1.1 firmware update a couple of days ago, SnapBridge has been working reliably so far for image transfer, sync with phone GPS location, sync with phone clock, and remote photography, including use of Wi-Fi as needed. Transfer speed appears unchanged for 2MB or full-sized JPEG files.

To conserve battery, i put the D7500 in Airport mode when not in use. I added Airport mode to MyMenu to make it easier to find.

I would much appreciate any thoughts on the benefits of the the new "Establish Wi-Fi Connection" in the D7500 V1.1 firmware update.
