I lived in the country, and I can tell you, that if you leave those feeders out, those “hummingbears” are neither elusive nor rare.
In fact there was one bear in the area that opened the cottage door, opened the refrigerator sat down to eat, and complimented the owner on their choice produce. Even asked for seconds.
