I would definitively recommend a "sling" or "crossed body" strap. They are a game changer.
There are of several prices.

After having a generic one, I ended up buying into the Peak Design system, doubting how better it could be (the design looks and is quite simple). I was amazed of how much more comfortable it was.

Keep in mind I was coming from a cheap/generic one, but the comfort jump was huge.
Fan of Peak Design straps since then.

Peak Design. Made of seat belt material. Quick detach. Arca Swiss plate used to attach lets you put camera on a tripod without removing anything. The wide strap over only one shoulder instead of around neck is all day comfortable.

Hedgehoggers. The Winner seems to be Peak Design! I have an issue connecting the strap on the bottom of the camera where you mount a plate for a tripod.

Peak Design. They make a really well made series of straps, bags and other accessories. The straps have a really smooth one handed length adjustment and interchangeable link system. The 'Slide' is the most comfortable shoulder strap but takes up quite a bit of room in a bag. Get it for a heavy DSLR / long lens combo. The Slide Lite is comfortable enough for a FF mirrorless and mid length zoom. The Leash model is not as smooth and really only suitable for a lighter camera. The Cuff or Clutch are nice wrist straps. The anchor system allows quick interchanging between straps. I have used them all at one time or another. Just got their Capture Clip and lens holder for carrying one extra lens on a or strap without a bag. It is aclever design that allows a quick lens change with one hand without fiddling around with lens rear caps.

📷 I like the Slides! The Slide Lite is for FF mirrorless & will it handle a 400mm lens?

I made my own using an ol tripod mount plate, 1/2" OD green nylon web strap which passes thru a 1" old round ring similar to a key ring. The web strap goes over my head, right arm thru the loop, am able to carry/slide the camera behind my right hip. I can the just reach behind with my right hand and slide it forward and up for use, then back out of the way again.

The Slide Lite will handle the weight of a 400 mm lens no problem. I use the Lite for my A7Rii and 24-105 zoom. However, if you will be doing a lot of walking with it and have a roomy bag I would go for the full width Slide.

I purchased a Peak Design Slide slightly less than a year ago. Use it with a Olympus EM1 mk ii. Besides being comfortable in a cross body configuration I like the convenience of being able to detach the strap in moments when shooting in certain settings. No regrets. Would purchase another if I came into another camera body.

Optech. I use an Optech strap for my monopd and tripod and it is excellent. I use to use Optech camera straps but progressed to a Cotton Carrier twin, which suite me more than camera straps.

I'm an optech user for years. They are the best I have tried. Mine has gel near the neckline and neoprene, for heavier cameras, and it unfastens for a shorter hand strap. Simply the best for the money.
