I believe there is an app called photo transfer that will enable you to do just that if you have both devices on the same wireless network.

Only if he has photostream on both devices Mac and if his "computer" is a pc vs. an Apple product, he wouldn't have Photostream! ;) ;)

You can get an iCloud/Photo Stream account for PC from Apple for free.

Tell iTunes to sync pictures.

If the PC ain't yours but you want pictures from the iPad to that PC, just plug it in USB without iTunes installed and windows will let you drag & drop when the iPad comes up as a drive or "Imaging Device" (Win 7 for sure, I think XP will also let you do that)

I did this a week ago for my wife (she returned her ipad) I googled "how to remove pics from my ipad" and found a great tutorial there. Took no time at all. Since I only did it the one time I don't remember all of the steps now. Good luck!

Give it the factory reset if you're returning or selling it. Settings - General - Reset - Erase all content and settings.

Really, well that's great news for PC owners who are definitely in the majority! ;)
