One of the things I have seen here in Palm Springs during the summer, or any really hot day, is the hummers tend to stay on perches close to the food sources much more often that the cooler days when they do roam further.
So I built in a wire perch on the feeder hanger this year. These are from yesterday and today while enjoying the patio. And yes, the temps this week were near or over 100 F.
The last shot, #4, is soft, probably my shaky hands today. But the way the light affects the colors on the gorget were what mesmerized me.

Nice pics. Just a FWIW Humming birds do bird baths especially in hot weather. They love flying through sprinklers too.

Oh yes, I have one. But not a fountian/sprinkler. Running a power cord to that location is not practical.
