Great decision on the camera. Had mine for 3 years. Get Steve Perry's ebook on focusing and read up on back button focusing. You will be very happy with that. No suggesting a change in lens, but I went with the 28-300 vs 2 lenses that are heavier and one will not be on the cam when you need it. Enjoy.

I have the D750 (and D7100). You made a great decision. I use the 750 with a 24-85mm f2/8-4 and a 70-200 f/4 zoom, and love the results. BUT, do try it out with whatever primes lenses you have. I use it with a 50mm, 85mm, and 105mm (macro). You will be blown away by the results.

I agree.

I've had the same set-up (D750 and 24-120 F4 VR) for about 2 years and still lovin' it. The 24-120 F4 VR is a lot sharper than I thought it would be. I agree with one of the earlier posters......This is a great lens and stays on my camera for most of the time.

and just one more note on why the 24-120 f4 lens is a better choice than the 24-70 f2.8; you will find the extra 50mm far more often useful than you would that extra f-stop...

That's the way I saw it... have 11 other af and mf primes and zooms to fill the void.

Thanks to all for your advice, links and tips. Made two purchases of accessories already and will be ordering books shortly. Very manageable and quick handling with a 55mm 1.4 AF. It seems to like my favorite prime lens, 135mm f2.8 AI. Need a week off to just go and create images. Thanks again to all!

I figured it out from the menus, and wouldn't have it any other way. I love back button focus.

Is it the Custom Setting option?
