2nd attempt at LRGB - Messier 101

60 RGB of 120 seconds, 150 Lum of 90 seconds. I lost a lot playing around with these filters. I had ~1,600 frames, of course that includes darks, bias, flats.

I tried to follow the PI info Ed sent, but I stopped at one point and went back to PS. Its difficult giving up the control that I think I get from PS.

Kinda messed up stars and oversaturated, but I was bad in PS and didn't keep my levels, and I didn't want to start all over again.

I see that I need to stop working on processing in the dark, now that it’s light out this is very dark. I’ll post an update/lightened image later.

Thanks, I tried to process again, this time in PI. I think I need a version somewhere between these images.

Alanna says my attempts the stars and galaxy are coming out with too much color, too R , too G or too B adjusting those colors is a real chore not to oversaturate . I end up losing detail in the arms and mess up the background .I keep failing to get it just right Brian, I need to catch a break and get more data URRGG ! Your m101 is looking really good , stars and detail in the arms is banging .
