Super small cars from the fifties, made in Europe.
I'd like to see how many clowns they could fit in one of these.

Excellent set Mike. Lovely cars.
The BMW Isatta had one key design flaw: After a front end collision, you could not exit it. It was actually a very cute, but dangerous, design. I have spotted one in a car parade a few years back in I believe it was Portland, Oregon...
...and they were dreadfully slow. I had a friend in high school who bought a well-used one. Not only did it have low gear, but also a low low gear. Cool car, though, except for that front door!

I remember seeing cars like these in Germany when I was a kid and Dad was stationed there. He called them pregnant roller skates.
I kept expecting them to wink or talk 😂

They are so cute...I need one to bum around in, mike! Pretty shots of them...the red is the one for me.

Cute! But with my big feet –size 15! – it would take 2 of them to make me a pair of roller skates!
Know what happened to DKW?, became part of Audi. 4 circleS = Horsch, DKW, Autounion, & NSU.
forerunners of the 'smart car"?
Another Messerschmidt for your viewing pleasure.
I had the unfortunate experience of riding in #4 in down Naples Italy. Oh my gosh.
My gosh, I have not seen a Scheewitchen Sarg ( Snow Whites coffin ) since my childhood in Germany. Great pics and thanks for posting.

My Dad's Secretary had an Isetta, back in the early 60's. It was a crowd grabber, for sure. Thanks for the pics!

In high school, our band director used to have an Isetta. When we'd get pissed off at him for whatever reason, 4 of us would pick the car up and place the front of it immediately adjacent to a parking lot light pole. We never stuck around long enough to see how he managed to get in the car afterward. But, we figured it had to be funny.

I have seen these cars, (most of them) off and on through the years at various car shows, and such... I have always wondered; how much do they leak in the car wash or bad weather?
I have had 4 convertibles through the years, (recently bought another one) and they all leaked... some did ok while still new, but eventually, they all leaked somewhere...
I have just considered that to be a convertible fact...
