I can’t even get those guys to come to my feeder. One of the great tragedies of my photo career is I haven’t managed to get one single good picture of a Hummingbird in flight. So, that makes me incredibly envious of your shot. Luck comes to those who work hard. You who have accomplished this have earned your results!

I'm reminded of a conversation I once overheard between two very skilled piano players. They were talking about the hours of daily practice to maintain their skill level. The one man mentioned how he just had a gig playing piano at a house party. The owner of the house said, "I would give anything to be able to play the piano like you do." The piano player just smiled and thanked him, but thought to himself, "All you have to do is practice as much as I do, but then you would not be able to own this beautiful house and hire people like me."

Thank you for recognizing the effort it takes.

I spent all day taking photos of this hummingbird. Yesterday there was a male, but he did not show up today. If you look at it's eye, you can see four of the Godox flashes I used.

The is the last photo I took today. It was getting dark.

Beautiful! All of your hummingbird photos are fantastic.

Do you have hummingbirds where you live in Alaska? I think parts of Alaska have them all year long.

I remember seeing a video a year ago or more about a guy in Alaska feeding Hummingbirds right out of his hand. They were all over him. I'll see if I can find it again.

Very nice.

One thing that really stands out is the flashes ability to freeze movement. You've setup this shot well and probably prefocused the camera but did you use a remote trigger or a automated one?
