I have 2 B & M spare batteries for my 77D. The deal came with a charger for a good reason. The canon charger that came with the camera will not charge 3rd party batteries. I found some info that this is true. The B & M charger and batteries work fine.

My Canon chargers have always charged my 3rd party batteries with no problem. I have 3 or 4 LP-E6N and 2 aftermarket LP-E6's. All charge just fine in my Canon LC-E6 charger.

I recently purchased one on Amazon, "PowerTrust " it has an indication of the degree of charge. My older plug in the wall charger, I was not sure if my old batteries were charging. One using PowerTrust never achieved a full charge, I trashed it. I am a tech guy and very satisfied with the PowerTrust. If I need a plug in the wall, I have 110V in with an output of USB 5V 1A.

My Canon charger charges my LP-E5 Lenmar batteries with no problem. I might have a Watson battery also.

I have no problems with any charger and respectable batteries. Both my Canon and Sony compatible combinations work fine.

Thing is, the power source you connect the charger to has to provide enough amperage or else charging will be veeeerrrrry long or nonexistent.
Computer USB ports provide 500 milliamps tops. That is not enough for all USB-powered devices.

Get an AC-to-USB power adapter with more amps. 1000 to 2000 milliamps (1 amp to 2 amps) are common and cheap.

I put this in my shopping cart on Amazon. Now I have to decide if I want or need this item and to complete the purchase or delete it from my cart. I currently have two Canon LP-E6 batteries but they are getting old.

. . . Just checked, Nov, 2012? Whoa! I've had that refurbed 60D that long? But not as long as the D60 I bought used on Ebay when I was still living in Southern California. I left there in 2005.
BTW, the D60 still works fine and I still use it as a backup and for doing time-lapse videos.
