One of Norways most magnificent waterfalls and the country's largest national park are the prime attractions close to Eidford, a picture card village the is at the end of a branch of the huge and impressive Hardangerfjord.
This regions is renowned for the production of fruit particularly pears and plums and cherries. Veringsfossen is a majestic double waterfall about 182m high withe a free fall of 145m pouring its water into the Mabo Valley and is about 12 miles from Eidford. Further up the road from the falls is Europes largest mountain plateau, Hardangervidda part of the national park with views of glaciers.
The is also a mammoth dam Sysen which forms a beautiful lake backed by the mountains.
If you are there on a cruise a tour is usually offered as a 1/2 day trip to view all, If you are on your own relax and spend a few days.
