We have a bear that has been in our yard 5 times in the last month. I have pictures from 3 visits the other 2 were at night. He's trying to get at our bird feeder but it's out of reach on a stainless steel cable. Seeing such a powerful animal up close relay gets the adrenaline going! As exciting as it is to see him we don't want him coming back and I didn't want to hurt him. I through some firecrackers in the yard to scare him off. The last shot is him on the run!
steady hand there.Great shots.

My hands didn't feel that steady!
This is a good thing till it (possibly) becomes a really bad thing. I'd pick up the phone and call (Link)

Nice set. I can see why you want him gone, though.

Can the local wildlife people trap and relocate him?

Amazing, to have such an Animal so close, and I can imagine your adrenaline levels going through the roof!
You could have more on your hands than you think. I have had bear problems for the past 10 years and have one trapped and relocated. If you throw firecrackers to scare the bear or shoot with a small cal. gun you can't always predict the direction it will go in. Our DNR advised me to use rubber slugs but a local person advised against it saying it would only piss them off. You should keep a bear capable rifle loaded and handy until it is gone and remove any feeders that attract it. They are great in the open but many learn the hard way that if one gets mad and decides to let you know, your front door will hardly slow it down.
Take the bird feeders down for a week or so. It well move on.
