Do you honestly believe this? The United States is the only country which has lowered it's carbon footprint in the last 10 years.

So let's just assume that the g****l w*****g people are 100 percent correct. Any policy decisions that the U.S. makes to impact carbon emissions will be more than offset by increased emissions in India, China and the rest of the developing world. That means that no matter what we do it won't change anything, even assuming that the alarmists are right.

So, what do you suggest we do. The Kioto agreement that Trump backed out of would have financially crippled the United States while doing nothing for the environment. That is the reality. So what solution would you propose?

I would much rather make sure our economy is robust and then look for a scientific solution to the problem than destroy our economy making it impossible for us to have any contribution to a possible solution.

And remember, that is assuming that the alarmists are correct. Many of us do not believe that they are. We believe that it is all about taking money from the U.S. and giving it to other countries.

Yes, there is c*****e c****e, I am not a denier of that. The big questions are 1) what is to blame? Is it humans or is it cyclical? and 2) What should we do about it that does not destroy the U.S. economy?

You notice the alarmists are not asking either of those questions. They want the U.S. to be net carbon zero, while allowing everyone else to pollute. And as far as the auto industry if they don't like Trumps rollback, they don't have to follow it. They can always produce more energy efficient cars.

The climate has been changing at different rates for hundreds of millions of years even before man came on the scene.

The Times OP was about Lord Fluffy winding back tailpipe emission standards. Disadvantaging the auto industry, missing out on discoveries lower emission research leads to and crappier air to breathe.

But don't fret ... "US rebrands f****l f**ls as 'molecules of freedom'" SBS

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/us-rebrands-fossil-fuels-as-molecules-of-freedom

"The United States has rebranded f****l f**ls as 'molecules of freedom', in what's been described online as a dry, yet bizarre, press release from the country's energy department. The department announced on Tuesday the approval of additional liquified natural gas (LNG) exports from a terminal on Quintana Island, Texas."

"It also revealed a new nickname for natural gas: 'freedom gas'". SBS

heh, heh, right up there with coal being rebranded as ... "Patriot Rocks" by Colbert

If I had a Peso for every time some well meaning po-faced genius said ... "but the climate has always been changing", I'd have more money than Bill Gates. No value judgment, that's just a fact.

Some perspective.....

https://nypost.com/2019/06/12/archaeologists-find-britains-atlantis-8000-years-after-it-was-swallowed-by-the-sea/

So, 8,000 years ago this settlement was on dry land. Now it's under about 100 ft of water (32.5m). I want you to think about that because the alarmists are losing their minds over a possible 1-10 foot rise. Odd ly enough Humanity managed to survive back then. Go figure.

Also, while everyone is busy chasing warming which may happen, then again maybe not; we are not paying attention to what would happen if it cooled off. Any 3rd grade moron can look at the last several interglacial charts and see that, if the past is an indicator, we are due for a long slow cool down.

If that isn't enough then there's this https://www.colorado.edu/today/2012/01/30/new-cu-led-study-may-answer-long-standing-questions-about-enigmatic-little-ice-age

Why is this important? Simple.

This sudden temperature drop worldwide lead to massive crop and plant failures. This also lead to animal die offs, disease, plague, Dark Ages for humanity.

Don't believe me? Ask Dr. James Lovelock.
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/sep/30/james-lovelock-interview-by-end-of-century-robots-will-have-taken-over

From Lovelock: What has changed dramatically, however, is his position on c*****e c****e. He now says: “Anyone who tries to predict more than five to 10 years is a bit of an i***t, because so many things can change unexpectedly.”

Lovelock now believes that “CO2 is going up, but nowhere near as fast as they thought it would. The computer models just weren’t reliable. In fact,” he goes on breezily, “I’m not sure the whole thing isn’t crazy, this c*****e c****e. You’ve only got to look at Singapore. It’s two-and-a-half times higher than the worst-case scenario for c*****e c****e, and it’s one of the most desirable cities in the world to live in.”

But there is a third explanation for why he has shifted his position again, and nowadays feels “laid back about c*****e c****e”. All things being equal – “and it’s only got to take one sizable volcano to erupt and all the models, everything else, is right off the board” – he expects that before the consequences of g****l w*****g can impact on us significantly, something else will have made our world unrecognisable, and threaten the human race

At the end of the day no one "knows" what is going to happen, only what has happened.

All one has to do to connect the dots is read "Mind Wars" by Ian McFadyen. Then connect these two dots, the fall of the soviet union and Al Gore losing his bid to be president.

👍👍👍

I have asked here several times, what would be done with the money each country gives to these climate agreements? Nobody has yet answered. So we would contribute Billions to Trillions of dollars and we don’t know what that money would be used for.

Like you I do believe the climate is changing. It used to be when I hunted big game in the Fall there was almost always snow on the ground. Now it is sometimes 60-75 degrees. But my personal belief is this is cyclical. No matter how much we spend it will change nothing if that is the case. Some people will become incredibly rich, think Al Gore, and the rest of us will not.

Some people like AOC tell us the world will end in 12 years. Talk about your scary threats, huh. I have only heard Joe Biden give the same information. So much for Joe’s common sense.
