I'm working on convincing her. We tend to move and "look quickly." We did a trip of just over 4,000 miles in 11 days that took us to Cedar City UT, Vail CO (for the drive up I-70), then CO 24 through Leadville to Colorado Springs (Garden of the Gods), Cheyenne WY, Mt. Rushmore, Spearfish SD, Yellowstone, the Tetons and then back to the Bay Area. We drove our Mazda 3 and would probably do the same on the long trip. My plan is to take a somewhat southerly route through Arizona, Durango CO and Oklahoma to Ohio, Pennsylvania, then north to MA and back through Toronto, the upper peninsula of Michigan, Oshkosh WI, Theodore Roosevelt NP and then home.

Well good luck ... sounds like a fun trip to me. We tended to move fast, but there were times, I like to slow down, particularly when trying to shoot wildlife. I'm starting to think about what next ... was thinking about the Canadian Maritime Provinces, but then my buddy Chuck sent me the schedule for the Big Boy train 4014 that is in Nebraska & heading East for Iowa & Illinois before turning around & heading West. I love trains, particularly the old steam engines, so I'm thinking about that as well. Hope you get to make your trip ... & please post photos if you do. Best to you & your wife.
