I have a little invested in Bitcoin & Litecoin. My question is about the upcoming Halving of Litecoin. Is it best to sell off some before that happens or let it ride? I’ve read that it’s increasing now because of the upcoming Halving in August & the value will go down significantly after then. Any experienced opinions? Thanks.

My son got into cryptocurrency. He bought the servers necessary to do the "mining" and was making some money until the bottom fell out. He'd spent a lot on the equipment and ended up selling it. Big loss. My thoughts? Spitting into the wind. It's based on mining some algorithm but I've never been able to ascertain what that algorithm is good for.

The only thing worth less than government issued fiat currencies is privately issued fiat currencies. Cryptos are a legally vague Ponzi scheme. If you want a safe investment, with high profit potential, get a few thousand dollars together, and attend foreclosure auctions. Buy a home that is being auctioned off by the government for back taxes, or auctioned by a bank to get what is left owing on someone else's mortgage. I know one person who got a three bedroom home with garage, and fenced yard....for $12,500.00 in cash. That will never drop in value below what was paid for it. The same can not honestly be said of cryptos, stocks, bonds, etc.

Invest in what you know,
Invest in quality and hold it.
and never invest more than you can afford to lose

I suggest that we do not consider a false currency that has no real value . Stick to paper like Sterling or the dollar . This works because we all believe the myth that a thin piece of paper is actually worth something .

Imagine that you are stranded on a dessert island with just your wallet. You are hungry . A monkey comes up to you holding 6 bananas . Being generous you offer it $50 for the fruit. The monkey looks at you in amazement, a piece of paper for six bananas. You must be joking , but then we are smarter than monkeys , aren't we ?
