Cuzco, missing the last train of the day.

Cold, overcast day. Sick and waited 3 hours to buy a ticket but by then they were all sold out. As I watched the last train of the day pull out fortunately I had my little Konica C35A cocked. This shot, although having a lot to be desired technically, turned a really bad day into a great moment for years to come. I won't even ask for C&C :-)

I like the way you framed this one.
German locomotive.
Where was this taken?
Thanks, Pat

Thanks, BassmanBruce, Jay Pat. The main rail station in Cuzco, Peru. It's over 11,000 ft so altitude sickness for tourists is the norm, and I was no exception. I really love the proud, ancient Incan look of the engineer.

Without him it is a Very good picture. The steam, the locomotive the background all work harmoniously with your composition, but he puts this one over the top and into the sublime.

Yup, he's the "make" for sure. Thanks again, Bassman.

fabulous! epic photojournalism... the near monochromatic nature of this iconic rendering is skillfully brought to life with a wonderful splash of red of the engineer's intriguing head attire...

The iconic allure of the classic compact rangefinder...
There are compelling reason why a Leica M3 is a street togs dream, albeit this little Konica C35A may be it's equal...

thank you so much for sharing dat2ra

Would that be the "Inca Flying Phoenix"?

Wow! Thanks, Thomas. Yes, that was a great little camera teamed up with Kodachrome 64. I just found that slide and had it scanned. I can almost re-smell that engine.
