In answer to your question, The Fairness Doctrine was eliminated in 1987 under the Reagan Administration.

Yes they are and I doubt it is working well. I can't help but believe that many of the people, especially the wrong people, as in criminals, are not going to accept the knives being blunted by the government. It is only those willing to simply go with wh**ever the government says that will accept that answer to violence by criminals using knives. 99% of the population in England and throughout the world do not commit felony crimes of violence. Yet the governments everywhere target the law abiding to ensure safety. Talk about a backward answer to violence.
