Questions about Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II focus stacking

When you do focus stacking with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II:

1. are you restricted to only certain lenses? If so, which ones?

2. do you end up with a RAW file or a JPEG? Is there a choice?

3. can focus stacking be combined with HI-RES to produce a single RAW/JPEG file?

Thanks.

I am not a professional, not even consider myself as an advanced amateur, just a geriatric enthusiast.
Since nobody answered your question so far, I will give here my "three pennies".
I don't own an Olympus camera, only and old Nikon D200.
But recently I also tried for the first time to snap a pic (pics, actually) for photo stacking, using only my standard equipment; a camera with a kit lens 18-70 and a tripod + photoshop, just to see what the fuss is about. The results surprised me!

To answer your questions,
Ad.1 No, you can use anything you already have, but it is nice to have a macro lens (well, it depends what you want to photograph and what are your expectations).
Ad.2 If you have programmed your camera to snap in RAW - that's what you get. Or JPEGs, or both. You can stack your pics as JPEGs or TIFFs, but RAWs only if you use a dedicated software that allows such processing. In my case - it is a Nikon Capture 4.
Ad.3 I am not sure what you mean by Hi-RES? Are you talking about DPIs (dots per inch)? If so, yes, you can process your pics and the final stack in high DPIs ratio and save it as a RAW or a JPEG file.

I am sure, other more advanced members will elaborate more on this topic.

Have fun!
