Couldn't say no ! It has very minor cosmetic damage but optic fine ,got it off eBay inc of P&P for £130 !!!
Only taken a handful to date ,but by Christ this looks very much like a keeper,it's 380 mm on my d7100'and with Kenko pro 300 on as well it will be ( not tried that yet ) a massive 760 mm equivalent !!!
Any body use one of these ?

"State pension" says you'll have lots of use with your new toy! I have Canon, so no advice.

Graham, if it's 200mm on the long end then you've got the perspective of 300mm on your Nikon DX crop sensor camera! Anyway, it's a great deal on a wonderful piece of glass that's built like a tank. I have had one for many years now and never considered trading up to the 70-200 that replaced it.

Here's a sample portrait I just shot with it!

Focal length is good for portraits, I guess. I have one.

Great lens. I've had one since 2006 and I will not part with it. But on a cropped sensor camera it gives you the perspective of an 80-200, but with the crop factor your field of view will be similar to a 120-300. Perspective is always a function of distance to subject, not focal length. I also have the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x and 2.0x extenders. The 1.4 is quite good and AF performance remains useable. The 300 is not so great.

No. I'm trying to live on a "state pension"

I bought one several years ago on Ebay as well ( along with a 35-70 2.8 and a 20-35 2.8 ). I have never regretted any of them, but get the sharpest pics from my 80-200 2.8. I take a lot of candid "close up" portraits of family with it because I can stand back and catch their expressions without them being too aware. The only drawback is its weight - I'm 72 and after lugging it around on my D610 for an hour or so, it gets downright heavy. Otherwise, it's going to be in my bag until I stop taking pics.

At lest you got a pension. They’re rare in the private sector in the US.

I've used the 80-200mm f/2.8 first on a D5300
And now on a D7200. Beast of a lens, but very sharp. Bought mine on Ebay as well.

Going to give the Kenko 2x a go let's see how it focuses or not !?

At least my d7100 is slightly lighter,YEs, with the 80-200 on its heavy but SO well balance in the hand its uncanny

There is Social Security, which you contribute to based on your compensation and that is matched by your employer. You have the option of a 401K and IRA's.

I have an older 80~200 f/2.8 ED Nikkor that I really like. I don't risk degrading the image by using an extender with it.
