I am contemplating getting a Sony RX10Mk4. Will a Nikon SB-600 external flash work with this camera? All answers appreciated.
I do not believe the signal provided by the camera will work on a Nikon flash, and may damage the hardware. You could get a PocketWizard, or similar remote flash control, and that would work, but it'd be unnecessarily complicated. Best to find a dedicated external strobe for the Sony.

"Sony has a proprietary Multi-Interface hot-shoe that won't work directly with Canon or Nikon flash gear."
"If you have Canon, Nikon, or Yongnuo flashes, you can use the Pixel TF-334 hot-shoe adapter, retailing for around $10."
"Just realize that the flashes that gave you TTL functionality with your Canon or Nikon cameras will only work in Manual mode now."

I think you can fire the flash with the Sony. But of course no TTL and the SB600 can only do manual. Unlike the SB800 it could do AA mode.
I asked Borrow Lenses about which flash I need for a rental RX10 IV. They recommend the Sony HVL-F60M Flash with LED Video Light. Hope you will write a review of your use with the RX10 IV for UHH.
In other words, if you no longer need it you'll be much better off just selling the Nikon flash and replacing it with one that's designed for use with the Sony.
