Owens Valley from White Mountains.

Coincidentally, this panorama is just about on the opposite side of the Owens Valley from my previous post. Altitude was about 8600 - 8700 ft. It had been raining on and off on the drive up the mountain, and as I was finishing the panorama, it started to hail. Which was pretty funny as it was 90 deg on the valley floor. Figured it was time to pack it up and head back to the car.

Nikon D850, Nikkor 28-300 lens. Merged in Lightroom and cleaned up in Photoshop.

Like It. A couple years ago I was up on the Elkhorn Ridge East of the Carrizo Plain being a nut driving a Mazda 6i up off road there near the San Andreas Fault. They were having a superboom that spring. I was taking an image similar your yours there when it started raining on the hills. I have a couple images with water droplets on my filter. There is the plain and soda lake below. Death Valley is great too. I've only investigated a small portion of that so far.

The Carrizo Plain and Soda Lake is now on the Springtime overnight trip list.

The original pano in Lightroom was covered with quarter sized drops on the lens that Photoshop's healing brush made quick work for removal.

Do you use a panorama head?

Lovely job on the clouds. I would prefer the ground to be brighter. Too subdued for my taste.

No, I gave up on those years ago. I have a leveling base on my RRS tripod and a Bogen gear drive head for precision adjustment. Most tripod heads have graduated degree markings but I've found that sighting in the viewfinder or in Live View, I rotate the camera so there's a minimum of 25% overlap works for me.
