I thought someone had posted a photo with a Ferromex locomotive in a US Class 1 railroad consist, but can't now find it. It reminded me of my experience seeing two Ferromex ES44AC diesels leading a consist of six BNSF Dash 9 diesels. This was at the BNSF Belen NM railyard. At the time all eight locomotive's engines were running and it appeared that these eight units were being used as yard switchers. It was a funny thing watching them run back and forth as they switched short loads to different tracks. I am aware that various railroads share locomotive power to make transit faster, not having to stop and swap locomotives every time they find themselves on 'other' RR's mainline. So, seeing the Ferromex units wasn't a big surprise. The surprise was that they were leading the train. Belen it is about 240 miles north of the border.
"Foreign Locomotives" Do they go "le-choo, le-choo"? Or "Arriba-arriba choo!"?
(Haven't had my first cup of coffee yet. Great shot.)

Hmmm....
No reading of UHH when cup of coffee in hand. <-- New rule.
That's a lot horsepower pulling that train. Do you know how many cars they are pulling?

They appeared to be playing yard switcher, often coming by us, as they went back and forth in the yard, with only a half dozen or so automotive car haulers in tow. They never left the yard on a road trip while we were there.

I was sure I'd seen it but when I did the search I didn't think to search 'south of the border'
