It is inexcusable that camera companies don't give Adobe and others the info they need to open raw files. No camera comes with decent software. Nikon is particularly bad.

Adobe does have the information from Canon. I use both LR and PS on the subscription plan and have been able to open the CR3's for some time now. Also, LR will import CR3's as Raw files if you set the import page to do so.

It’s not only excusable but understandable. Camera companies keep raw formats secret for competitive advantage. They have every right to do so and to share or not share that information with software companies. As has been the case, aftermarket software companies will have to reverse engineer the new raw formats.

Hope you don't carry a balance on your B&H/Payboo credit card. The 30% interest rate will cost you the sales tax savings. Good for B&H/the bank, bad for you.

Thanks for the reminder. I will pay it off when I use it. No interest, just a 6.9% discount.

Use Phaseone’s CaptureOne 12. It reads and converts CR3s beautifully and can output to DNG, jpegs, Tiffs and a number of other formats and color spaces. It also has a wide array of adjustment tools and other features. Watch the video tutorials and download it for a 60 day free trial. You’ll be happy with it

Current versions of Ps & Lr should be able to read them or do so very soon as these subscription are up dated continuously. You also could convert your CR3 Raw to DNG Raw (an Adobe generic Raw format) that most PP software should be able to open. Do you have the factory software from Canon? You should be able to start your processing and editing from there, save as a TIFF and then open it in Corel.

This argument applies to any credit card. You should ALWAYS pay the balance in full otherwise it's going to cost you. At least with Payboo you save your state's sales tax.
