Time is relative to velocity.
Because of the discoveries per the different rates of the expanding universe and dark matter, there is an increasing conjecture that we are actually inside a black hole formed from the big bang.
Depending on where you are, and the relativistic speed, you will still live and die at the normal rate, but not at the same rate of someone elseware along the expansion banding.
Our Sun is thought to be a 3rd generation entity, formed from the ashes and residue of previous Suns. All of which are just temporary glimmering sparks in the greater scheme. We are just the side effects of the almost random conglomeration of residues. Some folk wonder what comes after us- independent cockroaches, termite hive minds, telepathic spider tribes?
But what are we really for? To what fashion will our molecules serve during the next Sun's cycle? Is this not our true purpose? Is this really our foretold destiny- to live and accumulate various substances and minerals in such a way as to help supply appropriate materials for the next accretion disc by our deaths? We will never know.
