Two very different types of landscape photographs

Both of these were taken on a first ascent climb of Mike's Mesa in Southern Utah by the San Juan River. The first shows just how spectacular this landscape is. The second, a more up close and personal interpretation of the landscape. Please download for the best viewing of these different landscapes.

Fascinating contrast in the 2 images... you could probably use #2 as a texture for another image, if you are so inclined...

Liked your first one for the overall feeling of where you are. But, I feel the macro grafic of a dried up orange earth had impact too. Bev

Nice shots.

I wonder about the white ground in the first shot. Is this sand or salt? Looks like it was a beautiful day to be out and about.

That white is just part of the multi colored Chinle formation (a formation also known for it's preponderance of petrified wood and uranium)
