I know a number of other Hoggers use Affinity and have had good luck with it. I've been using it for about 5 months and have stopped using Photoshop. They have some good getting started, as well as advanced tutorials.
Great price for an excellent pixel editor -- recommended as such.
Their problem of a forced destructive raw workflow remains in this latest update and so a cautionary note for anyone looking for a single app to handle raw files.

Agreed. I don't like their raw editor either. - I use Capture One for raw processing - and Affinity for object removal, composites, etc. It's a pretty straightforward interface (round-trip) between the two. I also use Photomatix for HDR.
It's the same way I used to work in Lightroom - and then use Photoshop for the big stuff.
