Help with my Canon XL-1

I have the Canon XL-1 mini DV camcorder that I bought new about 11 years ago. I'm having a problem trying to locate the cable that connects from the DV port on the right side of the camera to my my laptop puter. I have several uploads to do and I'm stuck without it. I'm still a beginner on the puter so please, be gentle with me. B&H doesn't have it. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Did you try to contact Canon?

One other thing you might try is going to Radio Shack. Lots of people think these cables are proprietary but RS may have something that fits the female end of the camcorder with a generic USB male end for the computer.
