5 Francs of the past...
... Today I told my grandson the big changes since his grandfather was a child.
Look, when I was a child like you are now, my mother sent me to the local grocery store with 5 francs, which now represents 75 cents for shopping.
I came home with a plate of butter, a liter of milk, a bag of potatoes, a piece of cheese, a packet of sugar, a baguette and a dozen eggs !!!
And my grandson replied:
OK Papy, but in your day there were no surveillance cameras !!! "
So is it the good old days or the bad old days?? Did you have to walk uphill both ways to this store, or was that only in wintertime?? :-)
Funny joke Frenchy. Thanks for the laugh!
Good one Frenchy. Thanks.
Good story. Thanks for sharing it.
was it new or old francs , the old francs where new francs x 100 .so , 500 old francs became 5 francs .
That is the probable response I'd get from my grandsons if I told them a similar tale.

Old I presume, the last time I saw Francs was in 1957
According to old peoples, the switch to Euro cost them a bunch individually
