If you want to know if James Holzhauer remains champ and probably breaks Ken Jennings' the record, click the link.

If you want it to remain a suspense, DON'T click the link, watch it tonight.

Here's the link: https://brobible.com/culture/article/jeopardy-episode-leaked-james-holzhauer/

I don't watch television. I couldn't care less who the champion is.

Well if you don't watch TV like Netflix and Amazon on smart TV you
are missing an enormous amount of new films created for these channels.
Hundres of movies from all over the world. Dont' like movies?

Hmm...looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, on a Monday morning, beginning of the week, even.

I don't watch much TV either but it's good to have them around. I'm being selective as to the programs. I like watching the old movies (without commercial, of course) such as TCM's and prefer the ones that will challenge my brain such as those film noir or whodunit. I also like watching documentaries. And, of course, the issue on hand right now, Jeopardy! I get excited whenever I get the answer to the Final Jeopardy question, which is far and few in between. Been watching it forever. I won't consider myself a trivia buff but I like the challenge to the brain. Like our muscles that shrink from lack of use (atrophy), our brain cells (neurons) die a slow death when not challenged.

On a side note, did you know mental exercises such as taking up photography as a hobby (or learning a new language, new game such as mahjong, etc.) stimulates/strengthens the connections between brain cells and may also protect against build-up of proteins (plaques) that lead to Alzheimer's disease?

My 2 cents.

I've not had a tele for over 30 years. However, I know and appreciate tv and films bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of people, fine.
I'm just not wired that way, I can't sit still and just watch a screen, I need to be doing.

I find it hard to believe James made such a small bet. If he had gone all the way he would have won unless my math is off.

The size of his final bet was way out of character for him. ???

I catch the show once in awhile and have been intrigued by his dominance.
My wife and I both were surprised about the bet size....
She thinks he was tired of being there and made that small bet in order to get off the show.
It was completely out of character for him.

Anyway, It was an interesting run.

Based on a small bit I read his final bet was not out of character the way he explained it.
He knew he couldn't win because the lady, sorry I'm bad at names, would most likely cover him so he was playing for second place.

I agree I think he'd had enough, they record a weeks worth of games a day, and they are long days ,plus the intensity of the competition it must be hard.

I already read about it in the news - no interest for me, though.

Hi jccash. I beg to disagree but not necessarily.

Here's why:

1. James and the lady (I think her name is Emma Boettcher), both got the correct answer for the Final Jeopardy Question.

2. Prior to the Final Jeopardy Question, James winning was $23,400 while Emma's was $26,600.

Based on the above scenario, the only way James would have won is:

He bets all his winning and she bets an amount that is at least $1 less his total bet.

Here's the math for James to win:

1. He bets $23,400 (all) = $46,800
2. She bets $20,199 of her $26,600 winning = $46,799

(If she bets $20,200, it would end up as tie. They both come back for next day. if she bets $20,201, she wins by $1 and becomes the new champ and gets to come back the following day.)

Here's the math for how it actually ended:

1. He bet $1,399 of his winning ($23,400) = $24,799
2. She bet $20,201 of her winning ($26,600) = $46,801

Bottom line is, it all boils down to $1 in FINAL WINNING. $1 more and you win, $1 less and you lose.
