Some species of the birds make difficult subjects to track and capture, I find this extremely challenging especially when using a fixed focal length telephoto lens.
Most of these images are taken using the D500 and some with the D850 fitted with the 300 f4E and TC 1.4E III. All hand held, they move too fast to catch from a tripod.
Wire Tail Swallow - small, fast erratic flyers.

River Tern - the suddeness in their change of stance and dive makes tracking them interesting.

Hummingbird Moths - small erratic and very difficult to track.

Boy, you were really lucky!
Indrajeet,
Simply a superb series!
That downwardly twisting tern is an amazing capture!

Very impressive as always. My experience with the humming bird moth was to first realize it was not a humming bird, and then feeling totally inept at getting any meaningful shots.
A pleasure to view the India birds in flight .... a photographer with talent who obviously enjoys his work ..
Fantastic! Really need to download and enlarge the first one several times to be able to see detail. It stays sharp all the way. Very fine work!

Absolutely fantastic! Well done.
Now I am starting to think I should try more birds and bugs in flight. Then I will get frustrated trying to do half as good as these and will end up in the corner reading a book and ignoring my cameras.
