What is a good wide angle small zoom for a full frame Nikon ? Looking to shoot landscapes. Using on a Nikon D800. Also has anyone heard any reviews on the new Tamron 35 to 150.
Also after a new lens comes out do they go on sale or is their a rebate on them or does it take about a year for this to happen

The Tamron 35-150mm is a brand new lens, not even in stores yet. So you aren't going to find out much info about it.

It's also only mildly wide angle... nowhere near what you say you're looking for.

I don't know what other lenses you've got or what you want to spend... but the AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED might be what I'd recommend for landscape photography. It's a little more expensive than the Tamron 35-150mm. You don't really need f/2.8 for landscape photography (and the Tamron is only f/2.8 at the 35mm focal length... it's f/4 a 150mm).... you'll almost certainly be stopping the lens down anyway. The Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 is also $1000 more expensive than the f/4 lens.

Some possible "issues" with the Tamron 15-35mm "G2" include that it's also more expensive... about $300 more than the Nikkor 16-35mm, as well as slightly larger and noticeably heavier (about 2.5 lb. versus 1.5 lb.)... Plus it has a large, convex front element that prevents using standard filters on it. I don't know about the Tamron specifically, but for some lenses like that there are special filter holders that clamp on to the front to hold oversize filters. If one is available for the 15-35mm, add another several hundred $ for that and a couple decent quality filters to use in it. Personally, I use filters more for landscape photography than just about anything else.

Lenses like 28-300mm and such are all about convenience.... little better than the 35-150mm for landscape photography.

I'm not saying that longer focal lengths aren't sometimes used for landscape photography. Sometimes they are. But I'd wager that wide angles are used a whole lot more often.

A friend who is a Tamron ambassador put together this YouTube video. It is just a basic intro to the lens’ features and a link for some images he shot with it while testing the lens. I have not seen a review of the lens but hope David will give a review now that he has returned from his Teton trip. Hope this helps:

And you'd be wagering correctly. And since
the huuuge majority of landscape shots are
pitiful, avoiding WA is apparently a fine idea.
