Vietnam Memorial Park opening

On Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend the Museum of Flight in Tukwila, Washington opened the new Vietnam Memorial Park. It features a restored B-52 and statue of an Airman carrying at flag. To honor those that returned and the flag for those which did not.

Vietnam, I recall it well... it was just the other day. At 83, I have lived thru much what the young call history. Vietnam was a 20 year war, Nov 1, 1955 – Apr 30, 1975. Part of the nightly news every night.
During that period 1950-60 work began on Nuclear Powered Bombers. "Nuclear Energy for the Propulsion of Aircraft (NEPA) project, which conducted studies until the Aircraft Nuclear Propulsion (ANP) program..." Music Folk Songs were a big Part of the era of conflict at home. Faced with choices some "migrated" to Canada, others developed bone spurs, others served their country right or wrong... some did not survive and that is the message of the Memorial Park.
