I have very high respect for Sony's productss but there's some of smoke and mirrors in this report. Read some of the comments. One commenter notes, "... they say #2 in cameras 'Incl Lens' for revenue. What does that mean? Cameras AND lenses combined?"
Other comments note that overall Sony sales, as with the market in general, are down but Sony's market share (ie compared to other manufacturers) has increased. So purely based on overall sales, Sony is declining. One could just as easily argue that smart phone cameras out sell all other manufacturers combined but what does that really mean? Just playin' devil's advocate here...
Not hard to believe. If you ever tried to use Nikon Customer Service

I'm sure Fujifilm is more than pleased with their share of the camera market. Back in the days when I worked retail including some camera sales, 1985-ish I liked selling Minolta as a bang for buck thing even though I was a Pentax user. Not as fond of Sony as survivor of Minolta. Next to my Pentax hordes of equipment I find Fuji intriguing.
Looks like you beat the Sony fanboy with this report.
It should be, and probably will wind up, in the "Links & Resources" section.
Sony has been making the right moves over the past few years. Everyone else has to play catch up to Sony or come up with some earth shattering technology to bypass them.
The birds I shoot still like my Nikon, so if they don't complain ...

Having spent years in product marketing, this press releases just reeks of very, very selective sales data being cooked to achieve the desired results.

To be a good devils advocate, you should have good questions. So, "So purely based on overall sales, Sony is declining." is not necessarily true. It could be, but is not a given. If you had posted your actual numbers to back up this statement, it could be debated.
Same with "that smart phone cameras out sell all other manufacturers combined but what does that really mean?" It means what it says it means. There are more cell phones with cameras sold yearly than all cameras from all manufacturers combined. So, state your numbers for each premise which are all publicly available and it can be debated. But, just taking generalizations and thinking that you will get a good debate just won't work.
These subjects may be interesting, but try to be factual and you may get better results.
Just my opinion.

Don't really care if Sony has bumped anyone! But not hard to believe based on their excellent mirrorless full frame and RX10/RX100 cameras!
