Most people consider this the enemy of a groomed lawn but I like it and allow it to grow in the back yard. Its low maintenance ground cover, looks great and is pleasantly fragrant especially if you disturb it. The tiny flowers are beautiful.

Yes we have tons of it. The flower is a pretty blue, but I pull it around the flowers. I call it Creeping Charlotte!! Ha! Nice pic!!
The difference between a weed and flower is if allowed into the garden.. wild phlox is pretty also this time of year.
Looks like a flower to me! Very pretty.

I pamper my "weeds" as well as do the bees.
I have never heard of nor seen it. Very nice pic. Sounds more like a Peeping Tom than a plant.

You are lucky! It will take over!!!!
When we lived in the Chicago area, we fought it all the time.
When we moved to Houston, I decided (just for grins) to bring some down with us - to use in a hanging basket. It didn't survive. I'm assuming because of the heat and humidity. I think it's mostly a northern weed.
Surprisingly, I also dug up some of the wild violets that we had in our northern yard. They're still going strong - more than 17 years later. They do, however, tend to wilt unless they're heavily watered during the summer. And they get shade during the brunt of the summer days.
In the South, we have problems with Dollar Weed, Spurge, and Wild Violets (normally have to dig up the small tuberous roots) . The mention of Creeping Charlie made me do some research. I went to the Farmers Co-Op and they sold me a herbicide called "Spurge Power." I sprayed my lawn and "WOW! Broadleaf weeds wilted and died within a week. So far, so good. The GRass is happy, weeds are not.
