Interested. Saw video on it. Is inside on big compartment or is roll-top section separated from camera space? I like to carry jacket, sunscreen, snacks.
Will use hiking. Wish it had 2 side pockets—1 for water, 1 for easier tripod access. Or to carry poles.
Wonder if 3l is too large for 5’5 female. I have a sony mirrorless camera—not too big and heavy.
(Where are you in Mich? We moved from Birmingham to Colorado)
Thanks.

Hi dbfalconer,

I am in East Lansing. I want to make sure you know this was an original kickstarter purchase and may be a bit different from what you saw in the movie but I'm sure it is basically the same. There is plenty of room for a jacket and snacks, etc. in the roll top. Because this bag has the photographer's bundle, the upper part and anything in the roll top is kept from falling through to the bottom.

I am also female, but taller than you and likely much older than you. I think one benefit of the bag is that it is thinner/less bulky than some other backpacks. The pocket you referenced lays flat but unzips for water bottle or tripod. The bundle I bought also included some additional straps that I believe are intended to allow you to strap a tripod to the bottom of the bag. As I said in the ad, I used the bag on one trip so it is in excellent condition.

Thanks so much for your helpful and prompt response! It would be hard to be “much older” than me—I’ll be 69 this summer (it’s hard to even say that out loud!). I only took up photography 4 years ago and am not investing tons of $$$ in it, so have very limited gear. (I have a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera and 2 kit lenses. That’s it!)

Trying to plan for our first trip to Alaska—extra batteries, sd cards, etc., and how to pack. Can’t decide if such a pack is a priority, though it looks very well designed. I’m researching longer lenses—if I don’t buy one, I may get a pack instead (no price comparison of course!).

I will let you know but you may well get another buyer in the meantime.
Good luck. Thanks again.

Everyone I know who has gone on a trip to Alaska has loved it. I have motion sickness so I don't do cruises and most people I know do a combo of fjords and land. I would love to shoot the Northern Lights. I have a new Canon RP mirrorless and love shooting with it and learning as I go. I just turned 74 this spring and have gotten more interested in photography since my 2nd retirement 2 years ago. Thanks for responding. I hope you enjoy your trip to Alaska.
