Going to see Sir Paul McCartney this weekend, no "pro" cameras allowed. Looks like the Oly Trip wins the day again!

This is just one thing that I love about this little beast; it's so unassuming looking that nobody ever gives it a second thought and it sure doesn't look like a "pro" camera (translated: big, black and with a huge removable lens)

I'm going to see Sir Paul in KY this weekend and I'll be taking some Tri-X 400 and the Oly Trip with me to document the fun. I've never been turned away from an event yet when stopped with this thing. The venue has a strict "no pro cameras" and "no removable lenses" policy.

I love it. Small, pin sharp lens, pocketable, easy to use.

That's another thing I like about my Sony H1!

I managed to get my SLR into a Chicago concert in Philly YEARS and years ago, 200mm lens.
Seats were at the opposite end of The Spectrum (indoor stadium).
Tri-x pushed to 1600 and I processed it with Accufine.
Couple of good shots. VERY little grain.

Good luck and enjoy the concert!

Are you close enough to the stage to get decent shots with that short of a lens? I would think some kind of compact digital camera with a long zoom could get in and get much closer shots.

I’m not expecting to take pics during the show or of the performers

And thanks everyone! I hope it's a great time. (and that they have T-shirts large enough for me) :)
