It is a lot of fun for me to read your comments to each other, especially your computer advice. I am happy and pleased with the level of computer expertise among the members.
I have programmed computers for 52 years in about 13 different computer languages. I was there when we had to hardwire breadboards to program a machine to run a program. I taught thousands of students programming. I even added to my bucket list when my wife and had dinner once with Vint Cerf (the father of the Internet) and his wife. My dad even designed vacuum tubes that were used in the early computers.
I looked forward to the day when the fruits of my efforts to teach people to use computers could be seen by me. So many of my students went way beyond me, and I'm proud of that, especially for them.
While you hoggers were never my students, you still reflect my delight when you post your expert advice on computers. Makes me feel good. So just let me say thanks for helping so many others learn, not only about photography, but also about computers. And God Bless.

It is great to have someone on the forum with experience and advice. Now we can ask you rather than think we know what we are talking about.

For the most part, due to some recent physical limitations, I decided to "pass the torch" to others. I do still teach a little bit locally as a college mathematics adjunct. My class in the fall with begin my 51st (continuous) year in the classroom. Despite my difficulties, I just don't want to totally quit. Thanks for asking and for the nice comment of others.
