Between Las Vegas and Kingman, Arizona lies the little mining town of Chloride. From its hay-day in the early 1900's, little is left to note of its past boom except the local inhabitants. During our visit, we stopped by the cemetery to get a better feel for its past. When I came upon this unmarked grave, I thought I'd try to depict it as if photographed in the early 20th century with a camera/lens of the same vintage. I'll leave it up to you, the viewer to decide if I succeeded. Post work was done with Affinity Photo and Nik Silver Efex. By the way, it's a cute little town with one general store, post office, and very friendly people. And though it may not appear so, the cemetery is well maintained by local volunteers. Ken

Great image!!!!
Looks well cared for to me, otherwise sagebrush would have taken over by now.
Cloride is a great little town to visit. I use to go there to repair their printers at the church years ago. You did a fantastic job with your picture.
The town's people are wonderful to talk to.
Excellent composition and presentation...a very fine job here!!

Love it, really depicts the era. Love going to the old historic towns that help make America, so much history.
I have driven by many times on my way to photograph in Death Valley. Always thought about taking a side tour to Chloride but never have. Your photo has certainly changed that. Nicely done and captures the mood of the cemetery. Thanks!
Great place for an Ash Wednesday service: "Man, thou art but dust, and to dust thou shalt return."
Very nice job. Old ghost towns and cemeteries often speak more loudly of the past than museums.

I'd say you captured the Death of a Town.
