Best bet is to call Apple Tech Service. I've bugged them with all kinds of problems and if the first contact does not have the answer, they will always get you to a specific specialist. I've yet to quit a call without a satisfactory resolution. Best of all-all calls are free!

You can try using spotlight. If you have moved it then it will help find it. The external disk must be hooked up. Make sure in Finder you have VIEW->SHOW PATH BAR selected. see steps below for how to find it.

Did you look in Trash? If it is there you can select "Put back".

I hope that helps.

The Spotlight symbol is a little magnifying glass in the toolbar

In Windows you can either COPY or MOVE. (Move takes them away from the original place)
Did you do a move???
Copy them back.
Does Apple have a right-mouse-click option list?

Of course you have to know where they are in order to copy or move them back, no?

Yes Apple has a R-mouse click option list.

If finding them with spotlight doesn’t work, try downloading “easy find” (free) from the App Store. If you can remember anything about them (name, etc) put that in the search field. Most likely, if you can find one of them, you can find them all in the same place.
Good luck.

Apple Tech Support at 800-275-2273 is still the best answer. Their support is FREE and those guys know their specialty area. On your first call they usually want your serial # of whatever product you're using.

Hopefully you'll be able to recover your folder, but in the meantime, don't you have at least one backup of it? And if you don't have any backups, then this is a lesson learned for going forward. All my files, photos and otherwise are backed up to three separate drives, as well as being on my computer's hard drive. I'm guessing that your folder is somewhere, you may have inadvertently dragged it yourself, but it points out the critical need for good backups.
