Bill, thanks for the advice. I do have (Ellen tells me) a red lump where it got me and it still itches although not a much as when it was sucking on me. I also had a very, very tiny one, not much larger than a flake of ground pepper, on the back of my knee that I picked off with tweezers.
I'll keep an eye on the areas and your vaseline method sounds like a winner for getting them out completely. A young lady friend of ours was so ill with Lime Disease that she couldn't get out of bed for weeks and suffered for several months with a variety of symptoms from it and you are right that it truly is nothing to take lightly.

The fleck was the size of most Ixodes adults. For some reason when I get them within a few hours I feel it (cognitive awareness?).
My experience with these was while working for the Smithsonian almost everyone had Lymes test positive.
I did not. I had insurance, had come to the conclusion that a checkup for the antibodies for Lyme was wise. Simply because I collected ticks on me, (not deliberate) in doing my work. I saw two different ticks under my microscope, one Dermocaster, one Ixodes. I saw a doctor, had antibodies, got shots. No problem.
Smiles to everyone, and goodnight.
