Have a bunch of them I used back when I shot film. Haven't used them in probably 10 years.

If you decide you need more and the A size (62mm max) will work for you, shoot me a PM - I have about 40 filters in perfect condition I’ll make you a deal on 😎

Don't make the same mistake I did though, I threw out about a third of my total filters! Then I thought, wait a minute, I can still use these...Julian

I used Cokin Filters back in the 1960's. Some were OK, others were terrible, giving bad colour cast on ND filters. I think all of mine got trashed, even before Digital came along.

Not much chance I'll throw them out. They're in my box of "classic" gear that may never get used again.

I have a Cokin kit that I bought back in the 80's for my first 35mm film camera but haven't really used it much on my DSLR. Loved it on my film camera though

I have a set but seldom use it. Unless I'm not smart enough to see otherwise my D850 (and predecessors) seem to have obviated their need

I've used Cokin filters in the past.... don't currently use any.

It should be noted that Cokin went through a bankruptcy, was purchased by another company and has introduced a whole bunch of new, high quality, mulit-coated, glass "Nuance" and high quality resin X-Pro, C-Pro and Z-Pro filters.

The inexpensive optical plastic Cokin filters are still available, too. I've often recommended folks wanting to experiment with graduated neutral density try them before spending a whole bunch more buying a higher quality kit.

I would stay away from them, they are lousy filters, the lowest of the lowest!

Julian,

If you are on a budget and need to use filters, Cokin filters will do the job. Are there better and more expensive filters available? Yes, for example, Lee filters are better. The Cokins I have used in the past were for film cameras, 35mm and 645 medium format. I really liked the ability to raise the graduated neutral density line up and down on the horizon. But, at that time, the Cokin filters were resin or plastic and were easily scratched. As the scratches were so close to the lens, they did not really affect the image, as the scratches were so superficial. But, I surmise a significant scratch would make its presence known on the film/sensor. So you have to be very careful with them. Good luck with your choice, whatever it turns out to be.
