The last 4 images are of a big brute of an egret, I am used to seeing the tiny thin necks that you see in the first three images, the last 4 are of the same bird, the crab was swallowed whole, I have some images of him with a big lump in his neck as the crab goes down, but anyway this guy is a bit bulked up for a Great.

I am shooting with a Canon 5DSR and a 300mm f/2.8 II with a 2X Extender. I actually like that setup a lot better than using my 500mm/4. Even with the extender the 300 seems sharper than the 500mm and it is much lighter and easier to handle handheld. I spent probably 3 hours using that combo handheld on this outing and it never was a problem, the 500 would have been a problem from the start.
