First one to tell what this is gets an "atta girl (or boy)". The wife and I went to Wells and Ogunquit Maine for the weekend. I saw this in Wells and got a chuckle out of it.
Looks like a Checker station wagon.

Yes-s-s, continue... you're almost there.
Reminds me a bit of Chevy Chase`s family truckster . . . minus the panels.
The license plate says it is CHUBBYS Checker!

Well, since I have never been back east, particularly New York City, I don't know where else to go. I have only seen Checker cabs in the movies. Maybe Marathon.
I was just going to venture and guess "car".

ATTA BOY !!, ImTrying . Chubby's Checker it is. Hokey maybe, but it made me chuckle. "The Twist" was one of the few songs that hit #1 twice. I didn't Google it, but if memory serves once in '59 and again in '61. I was never any good at it.

That was quite a car. They just sold a replica of it at auction. I saw it on TV.

You almost had it. You had the Checker part. Maybe you're too young. A lot of people have never heard of Chubby Checker.

At 76, I don't think I am too young, I remember Chubby, the one hit wonder very well, Come on Baby lets do the Twist.
Thanks for the Atta Boy. I don't get too many.
There use to be a lot of Checker Cabs around this area in the 50s, 60s, into the 70s, and maybe even the early 80s. They were tough old cars. Most were sedans, not wagons, but I did recognize the taillight trim. And as my gaze was taking in the tailgate, I spied the license plate. I laughed out loud! I knew what you were fishing for and quickly posted my answer.
Thanx for the trip!
Taillights look like a Checker Marathon pre '68 without the side marker light/reflector of the quarter panel.
