The buildings in these pictures are from Old Town, South Dakota. They are authentic and from the era of the 1880's. Old town is located on I-90 at Exit 170, 22 miles west of Murdo. I had gotten these shots during the summer of 2012 while on the way out to Gillette, Wyoming to spend a week with one of my
sisters and her husband. I will eventually post more of these shots.

Fun shots. A bit of straightening would really make them "sing."
Cheers!
These are great. Thanks for posting.
Interesting. Looks like a movie set. Does the town have residents or is it a tourist attraction? Would make be nice location for portraiture work, especially in period costume. Googling “Old Town, SD” shows nothing but Old Town, San Diego, and the same on my iPad Maps.
Stan
Stan, this is primarily a tourist attraction that had been developed by a couple men. There is a lengthy story about it in a past issue of our state's monthly magazine, South Dakota Magazine. You can find it on the internet if you search for Old Town, South Dakota. But the buildings, as I have stated are authentic, and the whole collection of these buildings, along with what is inside them serve as a museum depicting the 1880's era. and how people lived back then.
