Not bad at all, Frank!! The photos look great. Which lighthouse did you capture?

Thanks Eagleholic for looking. The lighthouse is Point cabrillo which is between Mendocino and Caspar, Ca. Point arena lighthouse is south of there about 30 miles and it's actually more photogenic I'll be posting photos of that today or tomorrow keep your eyes open.

Thrift stores and pawn shops, two great resources!!! I would have give it a go for $10, and picked up a budget lens in the same manner. Good job.

Yes olemikey, they are. I love shopping thrift stores and pawn shops you can get some great deals if you keep your eyes open and know what you're looking for. You can also get taken, it's a Gamble. Thanks for looking and the comment.

I dropped into a Salvation Army thrift the other day. They had a Canon EOS Rebel XT, body only. It was Senior Day and it was on sale to boot. I picked it up for Ten bucks. I figured if it ended up being a boat anchor, I hadn't lost much. I brought it home, charged the battery, ran the camera through its paces, and WaLa. It worked.

I took it to my local camera store and tried a lens with it. It took great photos. I purchased the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens for $90 used and a 9+, great shape. I got it for my wife, But of course, I'll be using it too.

Do the math, $100 bucks and below are some of the results so far.....not bad I don't think.

I had a similar story. Bought a Sony NEX 7 for $14.99 at Goodwill. Looked brand new and worked pefectly. Body only so bought a cheap used 50mm lens. Then sold the package on Ebay for over $300.
Used the profits to buy a new lens for my Fuji X-T2.
There are bargains out there waiting to be found.
